Amory Lee
HEAD OF RESEARCH
Amory is responsible for curriculum development and administrative support including lesson plans, teacher training, standards alignment, time allocation, and gear and green schoolyard expansion. This role ensures that schools and teachers receive adequate suppport for successful implementation of Outdoor Education curriculum and practices. Amory takes a collaborative, research based approach, and is working on a Ph.D. from the University of Maine in Outdoor Education with a focus on K-12 Public School programs. She has spent the past 3 years bringing Ecopsychology and Outdoor Education to schools, libraries, and land preservation organizations in Maine.
Prior to Ecopsychology, Amory spent several years in natural grocery sales. Throughout her 4 years in organic food distribution, she continuously asked, “how can I further expand access?” She believes Every Child Outside is an answer to that prayer, by “teaching a man to fish.” She points out the success of edible schoolyard and gardens initiatives, and affirms that simple access to nutrient dense food would change the mental and physical health outcomes of a generation.
She hold a M.A. in Ecopsychology from Viridis Graduate Insitute and a B.S. in Nutrition from University of Massachusetts Amherst.
